Wellington Engineering is an established precision engineering company based in Hayes, Middlesex, on the outskirts of West London. Our roots can be traced back to the mid 1980s where the company was formed by our Managing Director Mr G Wellington. His engineering knowledge has since been passed onto our present workforce of 30 competently skilled engineers.
Company Growth
Our current turnover, approaching 1.8million is a reflection of our growth. Recent investment in machinery coincided with a need for expansion in all areas of our business. Our 12,000 sq. ft factory at Parkside house has been our current home for the past 7 years and now accommodates no less than 29 machines of which 18 are CNC milling, turning and driven tool centres. Our comprehensive networked engineering processing system controls all aspects of our work and is supported by computerised accounts and payroll facilities.
Quality Products
Our broad customer base symbolises our commitment to providing our clients with quality products at the right price. Over the past 20 years our staff have gained and developed a unique ethos through supplying our customers with precision products that have effectively met there needs.
We are an approved member of BSI and are proud in achieving BS EN ISO 9001:2000. Should you wish to see our quality assurance manual we will be pleased to send you a copy.
Machining & Tube Services
We have recently expanded our expertise in response to business demand and we now offer a cut tube business to support our engineering products. We are specialists in CNC milling and turning, but because we still believe there will always be a place for conventional engineering skills, we maintain a budget for conventional machine tools, investment and services.
Investment in the Future
Through careful financial control, Wellington Engineering maintain a level of return which provides sufficient funds to sustain an ongoing investment program. This strategy allows the company to keep abreast of new manufacturing technology and to remain highly competitive in industrial markets.
Recent investment has seen the acquisition of a new 5 Axis Mori Seiki Machining centre with 10" chuck and 6" sub spindle chuck, enabling us to achieve continuous machining with both high speed and high precision. The NL2500 model purchased by the company has 80mm in diameter bar feed work capacity (3.1 in).
This CNC lathe was designed with true milling capability and can accommodate face mills up to 80mm in diameter (3.1 in). In fact the milling performance of the machine through the "Y" axis is approaching that of No. 40 taper machining centres.
Training & skills
Wellington Engineering operate an in house training programme which continues to uphold a balance between conventional machining skills and those associated with higher computerised technology. Training young people is regarded by Wellington Engineering as the key to our long term future. We operate a training scheme for apprentices with a new intake every year. These young people are, after all, the engineers of tommorow.
Training is not only for apprentices but all employees undergo annual performance reviews, during which time skills are assessed and updated. The effective use of our engineers skills means we are competitive in both high precision components as well as batch production engineering.
